IPERICO BIOGRAPHY
Iperico is a prog-rock group from the north-east of Italy formed in late 2006 by the guitarist Ezio and the singer Ferruccio, both coming from cover bands, as they decided to create their own music.
They first write down some lyrics and music and then involve other musicians to start working on this raw material. As these first songs come to the light, they are deeply influenced by the 70’s hard rock and underground music scene, due to the musical taste of the leaders. In the next songs the group pays more attention to modern sounds to lower the influence of the past.
A few months later some new musicians join the group. With Tymes on the keyboard and Farley on the saxophone the line-up is completed. The saxophone enters as an additional instrument first but then Iperico start to use it on all songs, so it soon becomes a peculiarity of their sound.
In the next two years the band plays regularly in pubs, clubs and also some important events of their district like “Music in Village 08”.
In late 2008, after some time spent in homemade recordings Iperico get the chance to enter a studio and record their first official demo, but at the same time they have to face some changes in the original line-up .
After a long, hard period without a bass player Nicola finally joins the group and the line-up in once again complete.
In July 2009 Iperico record a live concert (Live @ LifeMusic ’09).
Nowadays the group is recording and working on new tunes while playing regularly in its district.
Iperico are now looking for a label to record their first album.
